Recruitment API via Talent Technology Blog
In it’s Talent Technology Blog Peter Gold raises the question: What if we had a common recruitment API.Would it save us all time and money and eventually reduce the transaction costs of hiring new people?
An API (Application Programming Interface) is a kind of language which can be used by software systems to communicate. Usually the applicant tracking system speaks English and the jobboard interface for instance speaks Chinese. In the past a standard for HR Data Exchange has been partly established, called HR-XML. The problem: Every ATS supplier or jobboard interprets the standard in a different way. So we don’t have a standard.
The idea of a recruitment api is wounderful. Candidates could save their CVs on their favourite platform and use the data to apply for jobs all over the world. Job ads could be categorized once and be published on many jobboards without any further efforts.
I think (hope!) some day in the future this idea will be reality.
